In 1976, America turned 200 — and even the syrup bottle wanted to celebrate. This amber glass commemorative bottle was released by Log Cabin Syrup as part of a series of six bicentennial designs, each embossed on brown glass as a nod to the brand's iconic log cabin-shaped tin.
This particular bottle depicts the "Spirit of '76" — three Revolutionary soldiers, fife and drum in hand, marching forward — based on the beloved 1875 painting by Archibald MacNeal Willard. The reverse side features patriotic stars with "1776" embossed along the top edge. The metal screw cap is designed to resemble a traditional cork, a charming period detail.
A wonderful piece for bicentennial collectors, history buffs, vintage kitchen enthusiasts, and anyone building out their America 250th anniversary display. One of six in the series — and one of the most recognizable designs.
Log Cabin Syrup has been an American breakfast staple since 1887, when P.J. Townsend of St. Paul, Minnesota named his maple syrup after Abraham Lincoln's humble origins. The brand's signature log cabin tin became one of the most iconic pieces of American food packaging, and its bicentennial bottle series remains highly collectible today.
