Myriophyllum mattogrossense 'Golden' Vitro Culture® – Rare Golden Aquascape Stem Plant

Myriophyllum mattogrossense 'Golden' Vitro Culture® is a rare and elegant whitish variety of Myriophyllum mattogrossense, prized for its delicate feather-like foliage and striking pale coloration. While the standard species displays light green tones, the “Golden” variety develops extremely pale yellow to whitish leaves, creating a dramatic contrast in planted aquariums.

This beautiful stem plant adds softness, texture, and brightness to aquascapes, making it an excellent choice for background placement or large planted layouts where its unique coloration can stand out against darker green plants.

Because of its delicate nature, Myriophyllum “Golden” requires stable and well-maintained aquarium conditions to thrive. It performs best in aquariums with a consistent nutrient supply, adequate carbon availability, and a mature biological environment.

Under strong lighting and optimal conditions, the plant develops very pale golden to almost white foliage with subtle reddish tips, creating a striking visual highlight in planted aquariums. In lower lighting conditions, the leaves may appear more greenish.

This plant grows relatively quickly when provided with proper nutrients and CO₂. As a branching stem plant, it responds well to trimming and can be easily propagated by cutting and replanting healthy stems. Regular pruning helps maintain a dense, attractive plant group while preventing overcrowding.

A mature tank environment is highly recommended for this species. Newly established aquariums often experience unstable nutrient levels and algae outbreaks, and Myriophyllum “Golden” is particularly susceptible to algae. When algae attach to the leaves, the plant may lose its signature pale coloration. Maintaining strong plant growth and good algae control is key to successfully growing this variety.

Grown using Aquarium Plants Factory® Vitro Culture® technology, these plants are cultivated in sterile laboratory conditions and delivered free from algae, pests, snails, and harmful pathogens, providing a clean and healthy start for your aquarium.
